What the law says

Penalty

This section doesn't print a penalty of its own. Other parts of the Vermont Statutes may set one; we haven't looked them up, so we don't state one here.

In plain English

Our reading

If you take ice from water over which people are accustomed to pass, the section requires suitable guards around the opening so no person, team or vehicle falls in. Not placing the guards can bring a fine of up to $50.
