Quote checked October 14, 2026 Text match only; current legal status and enforcement not verified.

What the law says

“The board may transplant surplus musk oxen from Nunivak Island to appropriate areas on the mainland of the state, when good management practices dictate the action.”

“The board shall determine which transplant sites are appropriate and whether a surplus of animals exists.”

Penalty

This section doesn't print a penalty of its own. Other parts of the Alaska Statutes may set one; we haven't looked them up, so we don't state one here.

History note

We didn't find a history note for this section on the official page, so we don't give a year.

In plain English

Our reading

This section is entirely about musk oxen on Nunivak Island. The board may move surplus animals from the island to suitable places on the Alaska mainland when good management calls for it, and it decides both whether there's a surplus and where they go.
